1. Remembering the 1782 Sylhet Rebellion against the East India Company

16th of December is known to be the day when occupying forces surrendered in Dhaka, bringing to an end the Liberation War of 1971 and the beginning of an independent Bangladesh.

16th of December is also the anniversary of the 1782 Sylhet Rebellion against the East India Company, the first of it’s kind. Lead by the Pirzada brothers. Below is a link as well as their slogan:
