The new Labour Cllr for Mile End, Puru Miah.

“Sometimes history needs a push”.

Thanks! Still recovering from the Election.

Belated thanks to you all for helping me win to become the Labour Councillor for Mile End. Apologies for the delayed blog message, as am still recovering from a lingering chest infection which I caught during the election campaign. Am on the mend now, and look forward to implementing campaign priorities, formulated by speaking to residents on the election campaign.

Campaign Priorities.

The priorities set by residents in the election campaign are:

  1. Non racialised approach to law, disorder, community safety and ASB (Anti Social Behaviour)
  2. Revitalizing local high streets – helping, small and local businesses.
  3. No right turn at the Burdett Road junction – The People vs TFL.
  4. Tackling rogue Landlords in the private and socially rented sector.
  5. Preserving, improving and expanding community & youth spaces.
  6. Greener and cleaner neighborhoods.
  7. Cost of living crisis – reducing income inequality
  8. Empowering residents, estates and neighborhoods – democratisation from the grassroots up.

In the coming weeks and months, I will be engaging with Labour Party members and local residents, gathering their views on possible solutions and options to the above issues raised in the campaign.

Will be explaining the above priorities in more details. Watch this space…
